Mark Mortensen

Mark Mortensen is a Professor and former Area Chair of Organisational Behaviour area at INSEAD,

​For over 20 years, Mark's research has focused on the changing nature of work and collaboration, with a focus on global, virtual, and dynamic work and teams. Over the past few years he has analyzed models of hybrid work - best practices, the effects of hybrid working on interpersonal dynamics like power, trust, and psychological safety, and its impact on mental health.

Mark consults widely and publishes in a range of academic, professional, and popular press outlets. His contributions have been recognized through academic awards as well as leadership and editorial board positions.

Prior to joining INSEAD, Professor Mortensen was on the faculty at the MIT-Sloan School of Management and McGill University School of Management.  He holds both a PhD and M.S. from Stanford University, as well as a B.A. from Colby College.
